The first day of the tour will see you mainly exploring the greenery to be found in Marrakech. Visit Majorelle Garden where one will find buildings with French architecture due to the connection the Garden has with the iconic French designer Yves Saint Laurent. You will also visit a museum exhibiting various works of art by Yves Saint Laurent. In the afternoon you will visit Menara Gardens and then tour the Palmeraie Area.
Overnight: Marrakech (BD)
Explore the historical sights of Marrakech today. You will see Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque with a landmark minaret that can be seen from almost anywhere in the town and Menara Gardens. In the afternoon visit the fabulous Djmaa El Fna Square with its myriad of street performers, soothsayers, storytellers, snake charmers, and henna painters.

Tuesday: MARRAKECH – TELOUET – OUARZAZATE
Get an early start this morning and travel up the main road through the high Atlas Mountains with a 4WD-Vehicle. The road twists and turns its way up the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260m). Continue to Telouet through some stunning scenery. Visit Kasbah of Telouet, once the home of the all-powerful Glaoui Family made famous by Gavin Maxwell in his book “Lords of the Atlas”. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Kasbah has served as the backdrop to many Hollywood epics such as ‘Gladiator’, ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ and ‘Kingdom of Heaven’ to name just a few. Continue to Ouarzazate and see the Kasbah of Taourirt.

Wednesday: OUARZAZATE – ROAD OF A THOUSAND KASBAHS – TINEGHIR – TODRA CANYON – ERFOUD –MERZOUGA
Today you will travel along the road knows as “the road of the thousand Kasbahs” toward Kelaat M’gouna in the Tinghir province. Kelaat M’Gouna is famous as “The capital of Roses” due to its yearly Rose festival. A quick stop will be made at the Valley of the Roses. From there continue to Dedes Valley where another stop will made. Later, after having passed the beautiful Amerihidil Kasbah, you will finally arrive at Tinghir. Near the town one finds the magnificent Todgha Gorges, some very tall limestone river canyons that are great for hiking. Finally at the end of a very picturesque day of travel you will arrive in Merzouga. (Option to overnight in a bivouac – Moroccan tent).

Thursday: MERZOUGA – ALNIF – ZAGORA
In the early morning before breakfast take a short walk to watch the sunrise over the sand-dunes of Merzouga. Then, after breakfast, travel via the ancient fortified town of Rissani to the Berber village of Alnif. Rissani held importance as a trading post for caravan routes as a crossroads between North and South and even today still has large souks and is acknowledged its leather and goat skin trading. Continue to Zagora via Tazzarine and Taghbalt; enjoy the splendid sceneries of the pre-Saharan desert dotted with Berber villages. Visit Tamegroute home to one of the most notable libraries of Arabic works containing an impressive collection of old Manuscripts and documents dating all the way back to the 12th century.

Friday: ZAGORA – OUARZAZATE – MARRAKECH
Start the journey back to Marrakech by traveling toward Agdz and from there on the track road through numerous villages and palm groves along the Draa River to Quarzazate. Then continue via the Tizi n’Tichka pass to Marrakech.
